The Union Leader & New Hampshire Sunday News - 05-Feb-02 - View Article New Hampshire officials are reviewing their policy on radiation-blocking potassium iodide in light of the federal government’s offer to give KI tablets to states willing to stockpile the drug near nuclear power plants.
Up to now the state has refused to be involved in the stockpiling of potassium iodide for distribution to the public in the event that radiation leaking from Seabrook Station or Vermont Yankee required evacuation from communities near those nuclear power plants. State officials have advised people interested in having the non-prescription drug on hand to buy it themselves.
